Musings - PART 7 Year of Adventure...

Part 7! Can you believe it, that is over half the year done and we have thus far managed to achieve our goal of one thing a month.
July saw us at The Grand theatre in Leeds for my idea of hell.

Avenue Q! A tale about puppets. You remember I have an irrational fear of puppets right?

I must admit I was dreading it but the show was fantastic. So well written, excellently sung and acted and I was even able to look past the fear and thoroughly enjoy myself. I would recommend it, google it and see what it is all about yourself.

As with all our theatre visits we have been unable to take photos during the performance so here are a few of the theatre and one of The Arcade.
:) xx

Musings - PART 5 Year of Adventure...

Part 5 was a little more low key than the previous months...

May involved a trip to the local theatre to see a rendition of the renowned 'Blood Brothers' starring a Nolan sister and a cast that just bellowed talent from the stage.

I didn't know the play before I went but at the heart of it is that ultimate thought provoking question of What If? I even shed a tear at the end but, for those who haven't seen it but want to, I won't spill the beans as to why.

Being a theatre performance I was, like February, unable to take any photographs when they were in full swing. But during the interval I managed to snap a couple just to show you how beautiful the inside of The Alhambra' theatre in Bradford is. Enjoy. :) xx

Musings - Part 3 Year of Adventure...

Last night saw March ticked off our list... last night we went to see the mighty MCFLY!

It was the third time I had seem them and I must admit that each time they get better and better and better. We were at the 02 venue in Leeds, small and intimate which meant that we were really close.

Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera and had to use my iPhone which means that the videos I took are out of this world but the photos not so much, especially with the lighting. iPhones are not meant for zooming in which meant my photos looked either really far away or that little bit grainy.

But that doesn't matter because we had the MOST AMAZING TIME!!!! The boys looked stunning, sounded stunning and played old favourites and some new material.

It made me remember why I love them... so here are a few of the many many photos that I took and I promise at some point I will figure out how to upload the videos. :) xx

Photo - Start of Part 3...

This weekend we are undertaking part three of our year of adventure... But I will report more on that tomorrow.

For now, while we count down the hours until the opening of the doors of excitement, we are having a few cheeky cocktails.

A Raspberry Daiquiri...

And a Bison Berry Mojito.

Musings - PART 2 Year of Adventure...

Tonight we concluded PART 2 of our Year of Adventure, we crossed February off our list.

The stage was set at The Viaduct Theatre and Shakespeare was on the cards. Love's Labour's Lost...

The venue is underground in the archways of the town's old viaducts and has kept some of its character in the damp stone and rumblings from the traffic overhead.

The players were dressed to impress and impress they did with their fast witted words and generous humour. As a huge fan of Shakespeare I loved it. The Northern Broadsides were the cast for the evening and earned every clap of their applause.

It was a fantastic night which has tired me out but it has played a very wonderful part in putting February on our map. :) xx
